This book, i have to say is a very well written book. It is a bit predictable but still keeps you at the edge of your seat in inticipation. Cinderella has been done so many times but this way was done really well and was very unique. I was thinking this book was going to be completely different from what it actually is but it is an awesome book! I finished it in a week or so. SO ITS A MUST READ!!

I am waiting to receive this book and unfortunately just read the reviews from the last two people . Whether the book is predictable or not , I think its so rude to write a review that takes the enjoyment out of reading it myself from me . You can review a book without wrecking it for everyone else. Try to have some consideration for others when writing YOUR OPINION. There's no need to spoil the book for everyone else based on your perception of it . I can't fathom telling the end of a book just because I can.

The Cinderella story has been SOO done, but I thought this book has a very unique and interesting take. Although it is very predictable (SPOILER) it's obvious pretty much right away that Cinder is Princess Selene (END SPOILER). Well written, great characters and CLEAN!

Was a very good book, with an inventive setting and characters, but also predictable. The disease has no cure and the emperor and Peony having it means certain death, also the future Lunar twist with Cinder was also easily predicted, but still a good plot. Loved the main character Cinder and her inner struggles with being a cyborg and coming to terms with how to interact with others. Great book overall, ends on a cliffhanger so I'll be looking forward to reading the next.

I thought this book was so good!!! I like books were they take a fairy tale story, and make it new. Marissa definitely did that. Loved how it was set in Beijing. Great read, lots of unexpected twists and turns cannot wait to read Scarlet.

Cinder puts quite a new spin to an old classic, for Meyer has made a world that is filled with cyborgs, androids, and a non-human race, and yet she manages to keep the charm that the original has. In many ways she improves on it though, for the character of Cinder is fraught with internal struggles that we can understand, despite her unusual circumstances, and her wit is well placed to keep the story from becoming heavy. She is a strong, proactive female, and has a well-crafted counterpart in Prince Kai, who wants to do what is right, but finds himself in no-win scenarios. Meyer also likes to poke fun at the original by bringing up certain aspects, like the rat that comes from under her "pumpkin". There are no magical mice in this story, but she does remain true to the plot, just not in the happily ever after way we remember.

This book is a very very good addition to the world of 'science fiction' or fantasy collections. Cinder is a very compelling heroine, Kai is an amazing prince, and their romance isn't too fluffy. This book is loosely based off of the fairy tale Cinderella, Scarlet is the orphaned sister, and works to support her family, (who don't appreciate her, except for Peony) and is punished if she wants to spend a little bit of her money to buy herself a new foot... Scarlet is also a great addition, unlike many other sequals this book was just as good as Cinder. I still prefer Cinder though =) I cannot wait until the rest of the installments come out!

Warning! This book ends on a cliff hanger and has sequels. We meet Cinder, a poor step daughter/cyborg who repairs androids right away and she meets her prince very quickly, with mutual attraction immediate. Still, they are trying to save the world by not being together by the end of the book. The exploration of cyborg/human love is reminiscent of the same in Japanese manga. Easy to read and inventive, this book is fun.
